Bruna Papandrea and Simon Baker Team for 'Lioness' Adaptation
Made Up Stories to Produce TV Series Based on Emily Perkins' Novel
Bruna Papandrea's Made Up Stories has partnered with director, writer, and actor Simon Baker to adapt Emily Perkins' acclaimed novel, "Lioness," for television. The award-winning global film and TV production company has optioned the rights to the book, which will be developed into a series.
This marks the latest high-profile collaboration for Made Up Stories, which has produced such hit shows as "Big Little Lies" and "The Undoing." Baker, known for his roles in "The Mentalist" and "Breath," will bring his expertise as a director and actor to the project.
Perkins' novel, published in 2008, tells the powerful story of a young woman who confronts her family's dark past and the complexities of love, loyalty, and the search for identity. The TV adaptation promises to be a gripping and emotionally resonant exploration of these themes.
Papandrea and Baker have assembled a talented team to bring "Lioness" to life, including the book's original author, Emily Perkins, as a consultant. The series is still in the early stages of development, with further updates expected soon.
