2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Schedule Announced
Dates, Times, and Venues Revealed
Tampere, Finland and Riga, Latvia to Host Tournament
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has announced the dates, times, and venues for the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. The tournament will be co-hosted by Tampere, Finland, and Riga, Latvia, from May 12-28, 2023.
The championship will feature 16 teams divided into two groups of eight. Group A will play in Tampere, while Group B will play in Riga. The top four teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals, which will be played in both cities. The semifinals and final will be held in Tampere.
The German national team will play all of its preliminary round games in Riga. Their schedule is as follows:
- May 12: Germany vs. Canada (7:20 PM local time)
- May 14: Germany vs. Slovakia (7:20 PM local time)
- May 16: Germany vs. Kazakhstan (3:20 PM local time)
- May 18: Germany vs. Denmark (7:20 PM local time)
- May 20: Germany vs. Switzerland (3:20 PM local time)
