How to Remove a Car Stereo from a Toyota Yaris 1999-2005

- Flathead screwdriver
- Panel removal tool (optional)
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Disconnect the Battery
Before you begin, disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent any electrical shorts.
2. Remove the Center Console Trim
Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the plastic trim piece around the gear shifter. Then, remove the two screws underneath the trim.
Tip: Use a panel removal tool to avoid damaging the trim.
3. Remove the Stereo Trim
Once the center console trim is removed, you'll see the stereo trim. Pry off the stereo trim using a flathead screwdriver or panel removal tool.
4. Remove the Stereo Mounting Bolts
Locate the four mounting bolts that hold the stereo in place. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the bolts.
5. Pull Out the Stereo
Once the mounting bolts are removed, gently pull out the stereo. Be careful not to damage the wires behind.
6. Disconnect the Wiring Harness
Unplug the wiring harness from the back of the stereo. Use a flathead screwdriver to press the release tab on the harness connector.
7. Remove the Antenna Connector
Locate the antenna connector and pull it straight out.
8. Replace the Stereo
To replace the stereo, follow these steps in reverse order. Make sure to connect all the wires securely and tighten all the bolts.
